Drum Tabs: Workage. October 8, 2006

Workage isn’t really a word, but I feel it should be. I’ve been swamped with school work lately and thus, have not been updating the site very much. In fact, not at all…boo to me. Now I have a bit of free time and have used it accordingly to add some drum tabs and such to the site.

Besides ignoring the site, I’ve been caught up reading the news lately. The whole world now knows about the Foley debacle with news networks and online news being consumed with the story for over a week now. Does anyone else find it funny that the Anti-Homosexual republicans have one among there upper ranks? Anyone?

In other unrelated news, I want to alert everyone to one of the funniest internet men alive: ZE FRANK! I discovered him this week and couldn’t stop laughing.  Click on the shows at the side and prepare to get an ab workout.

That is all.

I’ve come to the realization that what defines the best rump shaking music (FUNK) is not only a solid drum beat, but a groovin’ bass line.  As such, I am pondering adding a few bass tabs to my new Funk Tab page.  well…kinda sounds like blasphemy doesn’t it?

YES! I’ve finally found some actual funk drum tabs courtesy of a James Brown fansite. James Brown’s I got you (I feel good) and Papa’s got a brand new bag can be found on One Love Drum Tabs . Besides that great news, I’ve added a forum to the site to foster a little more interaction and I’ve finally added a “submit tab” feature. The submit tab is being tempermental however and isn’t quite online yet. Alright. Keep a drumming. MG

Reader Interaction on drum tab site August 23, 2006

After almost two months of being in business, I finally received an email from someone commenting on the site and sending me some drum tabs. This is the kind of drum community I would love to build where there is interaction and discussion. Drum tabs aren’t particularly prone to discussion but you get the idea.

On a different note, collage has started back up so faster internet is at my disposal. On the downside, updates to the site might become a little less frequent. We shall see…MG

Recent work on the drum tab website July 20, 2006

The drum tabs website seems to be moving along pretty well, given that I am only spending less than an hour a day working on it. I’ve added a google search and have created most of the letter pages.  Unfortunately, the actual adding of tabs is quite time consuming, and there are few to be had.  However, don’t give up hope!  More tabs are coming and constant updating is occuring.  On a side note, I seem to be learning more about HTML and dreamweaver than about playing the drums or writing drum tab.  Anyway, I think the next article might take a look at some of the drum tab software out there. OH BOY!

Rant: Drum tabs site July 6, 2006

After several frusterating hours, this drum tab adventure has turned into a “you don’t know anything about programming in html” adventure. My server isn’t cooperating and thus the site, which is now much improved, is unable to provide any actual tabs.  On an up note, my tracking software is working correctly showing that I have recieved a total of, count em, 3 VISITORS!  Does anyone know how to work with remote university servers?  UVA’s in particular?  I think I shall tackle the problem tomorrow since I expect no answer.
